CARATACUS ON THE MOVE

CARATACUS is a purebred Cairn terrier whose life with the BELL family consists of biscuits, belly rubs, and British television shows. He knows all about Oliver Twist and Sherlock Holmes, and as a result he thinks and woofs in a crisp English accent.

Caratacus’s stable life begins to wobble after a For Sale sign appears in the front yard. As he watches moving men drive off with the valuables, including his ferret toy and the sofa cushions, he starts to smell a rat. The next morning, he’s locked inside a pet carrier (the Worst Box of All) and left at the airport to ponder his fate.

When an airport employee opens the cage door to pet him, Caratacus makes his escape. A series of daring and delicious adventures follow: a ride down the luggage carousel to the tarmac, an up- and downhill battle with the metal teeth of an escalator, numerous chases from Persons who mean to catch him, and treats at the Food Court that keep up his spirits and strength.

It’s only a matter of time before he is collared, returned to his carrier, and stored in an airplane cargo hold. Upon landing, he realizes that he hadn’t been abandoned after all. The family had simply moved to another state—Washington! Now with the Worst Box of All behind him, Caratacus happily reunites with the Bells in the best place ever—Home.
